One of our residents’ favorite activities is getting out of The Station and visiting Camp Puh’tok. It was a joy to see them this past week enjoy camping and the great outdoors! We encouraged our residents to step out of their comfort zones and take part in new and challenging activities. Some of these activities included, horseback riding, archery, fishing and rock wall climbing.

Camp Puh’tok also provides a great environment for self-reflection and evaluation. Counseling sessions that would normally took place at The Baltimore Station, now took place perhaps on a walk through the woods, around the campfire or sitting in a rocking chair outside the “mess hall.”  It also provides the perfect environment for comradery.  Throughout their time at Camp Puh ‘Tok, you saw residents cheering each other on when participating in an activity, getting to know each other over a meal or simply joining in song together at the campfire.

The skills that our residents gain while participating in activities such as this provide immeasurable value.  These trips are another crucial step for them to transition into self-sufficiency. Everyone at The Station is grateful for our donors and supporters like you. Because of your gifts and donations we’re able to give our residents life-changing experiences.
